You can be a mobile point of positive impact.
Whoever you are and whatever your situation, your life has the potential to be a continual source of ripples having a positive impact in the world.
You can’t change THE world. Change YOUR world instead.
You don’t have the power to change the world. What you do have is the power to change your world. Wishing you could change the world leads to feelings of hopelessness and helplessness. Embracing the opportunity to change your world lets you experience your power and potential.
You are here to leave a Ripple LegacyTM
If you have ever asked yourself, “Why am I here,” the simple answer to that just might be “to leave a Ripple Legacy.”
Ripple Legacy: The cumulative impact – both immediate and ongoing – of the choices you make and the actions you take every day of your life.
It doesn’t require you to have vast sums of money, or to have started a non-profit that has helped thousands of people. It doesn’t even require that anyone will remember you at all when you’re gone. It simply requires you to be aware of the impact of how you show up in the world, and choose and act accordingly.
You are already leaving a Ripple Legacy.
Whether you realize it or not, you are already leaving a Ripple Legacy. The impact of the choices you make and the actions you take are already rippling out into the world. Some of those ripples are positive, while others are negative. Being a Ripple Revolutionary is about taking a conscious, intentional approach to your Ripple Legacy to steer it in a positive direction and maximize its impact. You can shift the balance towards the positive with awareness and intention.
Your Ripple Legacy starts with YOU.
When you show up in life in a way that feels natural and flowing, that allows you to use your gifts in a way that lets you shine, and that leaves you feeling energized and engaged, it has an effect on the people around you. It also lets you make the most of your natural gifts and abilities.
You maximize your Ripple Legacy by creating an energy loop.
There are a bazillion ways to make an impact, and you can’t do them all. If you want to maximize your Ripple Legacy, focus on creating ripples in ways you find most energizing and inspiring. The resulting energy feeds your ongoing efforts to create more ripples, creating an energy loop.
Focusing on your Ripple Legacy benefits you.
Many studies have shown that doing good can have a positive impact on you, not just the recipients. It can yield both physical and mental health benefits, elicit positive feelings, lower stress and create social benefits. And when you focus on what energizes you, the benefits for you stack up even more.
You can’t predict the size of your ripples.
There is no way to predict just how much impact any given ripple will have. A seemingly small and insignificant gesture can grow exponentially, while a seemingly grand gesture can dissipate quickly.
You will never know the full extent of your Ripple Legacy.
By definition, the ripples of your Ripple Legacy will spread beyond your line of sight, even beyond your lifetime.
You create your Ripple Legacy one ripple at a time.
Your Ripple Legacy doesn’t have to come from making an enormous splash that has dramatic and far-reaching effects. In fact, for most of us, it won’t. Instead, it accumulates one small ripple at a time.
Maximizing your Ripple Legacy requires awareness.
You can’t take advantage of opportunities you’re not aware of. To fully create your Ripple Legacy, you need to be aware of the opportunities to generate positive ripples. Pay attention.
Your ripples aren’t the whole story.
It’s not all about the huge impact any given ripple has. Sometimes it takes many people creating similar or complementary ripples to make the wave that will create positive change.
You don’t have to!
Whatever you do, resist any inclination to make this a “should.” Shoulds will only restrict you and block your potential. If you start feeling a sense of energy-draining obligation rather than an energizing fulfillment, take a look at what you’re doing and why. Remind yourself that you’re doing this because you want to, not because you have to. And if you don’t want to, stop.
